About

Hello! My name is Anna…

For over a decade, I have helped students with learning differences develop the underlying processing that supports reading, comprehension, math, and writing skills. While working for a top learning processes company at their locations in Michigan, London, and Brooklyn, I designed and implemented many successful reading interventions.

I believe in every student’s potential to learn and to thrive. Drawing upon research and best practices in the field of learning, I work with students to help them identify and meet their academic goals with an emphasis on mindfulness and a growth mindset.

As a tutor, my goal is to nurture students’ curiosity about what they are learning, compassion towards themselves in their learning journey, and confidence in their academic skills. I have worked with a wide range of students, from students with dyslexia who struggled to read off the page all the way to students with autism who needed support to develop their receptive and expressive language skills. Sessions with younger students are often play-based—reading should be fun!

My passion for reading and writing guided my educational journey (Ph.D. in literature from the University of St Andrews, MFA in writing from Spalding University). A native Detroiter, I now live in and love Brooklyn. A few of my favorite things are zebras, ice cream, and ballet.

…and this is Jack.

I love reading with students (when they ask for me). I have a permanent smile thanks to my underbite, and my tail wags in circles like a helicopter. My hobbies include napping and playing fetch.
